In the 1980–81 season, Serie C1 side F.B.C. Matera briefly played in kits crafted by Pouchain, joining the likes of Taranto in sporting the adventurous Italian sportswear label.

The Pouchain Matera shirt closely followed the brand’s recognizable template:

  • A V-neck collar, complemented by
  • A blue yoke stripe at shoulder height, underlined by additional horizontal striping, and
  • Matching blue cuffs, echoing the main stripe

These stylistic traits were also seen on Taranto’s Pouchain shirt from the same season, confirming a consistent visual identity across multiple clubs

Although Matera wore Pouchain kits only for a handful of matches, the episode stands out in the club’s history. It exemplified a time when smaller Italian clubs briefly experimented with bold, branded designs—foreshadowing the broader merchandising trends that followed.
